This is part of a series by Jerod, about his bison research. All photos are by Jerod, unless noted otherwise.
He said, "I've never seen a place that was so alive!"
As a first impression, that definitely makes me want to go there. We've been to magnificent national parks, wilderness areas, and random public or private landscapes in Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Washington, and Hawaii. If this is the place, I want to see it.
Jerod reports regularly seeing wood frogs, bison, wolves, bears, birds, foxes, water, water, water, thick deciduous forests and everything is glowing green. He and his research crew daily ride mountain bikes on old roads and trails in the Sturgeon Crossing region of PANP, monitoring bison presence and vegetation in the myriad meadows.
